FAQ
When is the ceremony?
Monday, September 21, 2026 from 2:00 – 3:00 PM. Please arrive by 2:00 PM — the ceremony begins promptly at 2:15.
Where is it?
San Francisco City Hall, Mayor's Balcony (2nd floor). Enter through the main entrance on Dr. Carlton B. Goodlett Place — we'll have someone there to guide you upstairs. The building is fully ADA accessible with elevator access to all floors.
What should I wear?
Cocktail attire. Think dressy but comfortable. Keep in mind that September is typically the warmest month of the year in San Francisco (expect temps to be mid 70s).
Where do I park?
Skip the rental car — Uber, Lyft, and Waymo are the way to go in SF. BART and Muni work great too. If you do drive, Civic Center Garage (355 McAllister St) is directly under City Hall.
Where should I stay?
The closest hotel to City Hall is San Francisco Proper Hotel (Marriott branded), just a few blocks away. For Union Square options, we'd suggest the Hilton Union Square, the Marriott Union Square, or the Holiday Inn Express Union Square. There's no room block, so you're welcome to stay wherever works best for you. Just don't walk from Union Square to City Hall — the Tenderloin is a bit unsightly :) Uber, Lyft, or Waymo will get you there in five minutes. Feel free to reach out if you'd like any other suggestions!
What happens after the ceremony?
We'll take photos from around 2:30 – 3:00 PM. After that, you're free to explore the city, grab a drink, or relax until dinner. Everyone will make their way to Foreign Cinema (2534 Mission St) for dinner at 5:00 PM — everyone is responsible for getting themselves there (it's about a 15-minute Uber from City Hall).
Is there anything else going on that weekend?
We're planning a casual get-together on Sunday the 20th — details to come. If you can only make it for the ceremony on Monday, that's more than enough. We're just happy you're there.
When should I RSVP by?
Please RSVP by August 1, 2026. The sooner the better!

Things to Do
🌉
Golden Gate Bridge
Walk or bike across — the views are unreal. Rent a bike at Fisherman's Wharf and ride over to Sausalito, then take the ferry back.
🌲
Muir Woods
A quick day trip across the bridge — towering old-growth redwoods, about 30 minutes from the city. Reserve parking in advance.
🏝️
Alcatraz Island
The audio tour is worth it. Book tickets early — they sell out weeks ahead. Ferry departs from Pier 33.
🍷
Wine Country
Napa and Sonoma are about an hour north. Perfect for a day trip — book a guided tour or rent a car and explore on your own.
🌿
Golden Gate Park
Bigger than Central Park. Check out the Japanese Tea Garden, the de Young Museum, or just wander. Great for a chill afternoon.
🚲
Bike the City
Rent a bike and ride along the waterfront from the Ferry Building through Crissy Field to the bridge. One of the best urban rides anywhere.
🦞
Fisherman's Wharf
Touristy, yes — but the clam chowder in a bread bowl is a must. Swing by Ghirardelli Square for chocolate after.
🚗
Take a Waymo
SF's autonomous taxis — yes, no driver. They're all over the city and work just like an Uber. Download the Waymo One app and take a ride — it's a fun experience and a great conversation starter.
🌁
Cable Cars
A San Francisco classic. Hop on at Powell & Market and ride up to Nob Hill or down to the Wharf. The lines are long but it's worth doing once.
